Setting up Internet Explorer in Mac OS 9 for PowerSchool .text exports.

1) Run Internet Explorer.
2) Select Preferences from the Edit menu, or press Apple+; (see illustration below).

3) From the Preferences menu, select File Helpers, which is under the Receiving Files submenu (see illustration below).

4) Click on Add (see illustration below).

5) Fill in the fields as follows (or see the picture below).

Representation:
  Description: text/ps-export
    Extension: .text
    MIME type: text/ps-export
  File Type
    Application: Microsoft Excel (the “File type:” and “File creator:” entries will auto-fill.
    Encoding: Plain Text
    Make sure that “User for incoming” and “Use for outgoing” are checked.
  Download Destination
    Download to: Download Folder
  Handling
    How to handle: Post-Process with Application
    Application: Microsoft Excel.

6) Click on OK.
7) Click on OK a second time.
